Wow She's Seven....

Well, today is my oldest's 7th birthday. And although she is only going into 2nd grade, being 7 is pretty old. I don't mean old, like "Old man weather" or "Oldtime Rock N Roll" I mean, older then the picture that I have of her in my mind.

So, this is the point. Pinnacle (if I may) THIS is where I have to make my first big transition. We went to The Limited too! yesterday.. That's right my unbelieving readers, I braved the MALL for my darling daughter. I braved that den of sequin and flares... I sat in the dressing room with her, and her two younger sisters... for what seemed like ... an eternity... and we emerged TRIUMPHANT! That's right... Just when I thought all was lost. Just when she had tried on EVERYTHING that we picked out that she thought she would like... she tried on the pare of denim stretch capris I grabbed off the rack.... and THEY FIT! AND... SHE LIKED THEM!

Well, I was sooooo happy, until I got up to the register and found that they weren't on sale and they were... in fact, $36.50! Yup. I know, I know... many of you reading spend more than than on your morning commute, it's just.... it's just.... I thought they were on sale... I had my heart set on a sale item. Oh well, atlest they fit!

Hey... I wonder if The Limited Too! Does that alot... put's regular priced items on the sale racks.. so that they will get picked up and purchased. hmmmmmm I smell scandal.

OH.. and the other thing. They have a creepy looking guy standing at the door. I should have asked. I just assumed he was security or something, but he was like in his 60's, he was dressed like Johnny Cash, black button up shirt, black denim pants, black cotton blazer over it, HUGE gold bracelet, HUGE gold necklace, maybe an earring AND, his hair was yellow, clearly colored that color over the grey. He was thin and very very creepy. I believe he stood at the door to stop the tweenagers from stealing. That almost stopped me from going in. ... shiver...

OK. I have lots to do.

The party is today. Looks like there may be thunderstorms, so the party will be inside. That means, I will need to make accomodates for EVERYONE... No problem. It will be fun fun fun.

100th Post Celebration and Extravaganza

That's right, friends, family and onlookers, I have posted 100 entries since the inception of Rosie the Wonder Dog. Feels like just yesterday... I was getting divorced and you guys were helping me laugh at the situation... then I became Slag Free... and then we got Rosie the Wonder Dog... My My My how life progresses.

Speaking of Slag, he called yesterday to tell me that he will make up the money that he owes me for child support, you know from his "motorcycle accident" ... right... Now,I'm not denying the possibility that he actually dumped a bike, but come on... he helped my brother carry his living room furniture into the truck... but he couldn't go to work? PPLLLAAAAAEEEEEEESSSSEEEEE... Anyway, in a remarkable show of insight, he decided NOT to come to the birthday party this weekend. He decided instead to come tonight after he gets off work, and see his daughter before the party.

I said, "Why aren't you coming to the party?"
He said, "Well, because I think I will feel weird"

So, that is more common sense then I think he has shown... ever.

Then I had a talk with him about our oldest eating habits and asked for his support in helping her eat healthier... blah blah blah... he was like, I don't feed them junk.

(Did you jaw just drop? Mine hit the ground...) I said, "Hmmm, Oh I see, you have been packing them lunches?"

Him: "No, but I don't let them eat crap"

Me: " Ok, what are they eating, McDonalds? Wendy's? "

Him: "Yeah, just the chicken nuggets or cheeseburgers.... and fries"

Anyway, this is clearly a man that thinks orange soda is healthy.

oh well..... that's about it, I cleaned and organized the book room, the kids room, the living room, the dining room... I just have my bedroom and the bathroom to complete and then the house is ready for THE PARTY! The girls are very excited. I'm very excited, I'm going to be making a ... are you sitting down... a sponge bob squarepants cake. Complete with copyrighted colors for the frosting!

Yup. life is good!

Afternoon Update

Well, Friends, Family and Countrymen.... My first day with my new summer schedule is coming to a close and I have a few things I need to get off my chest.

First, let me say, my oldest (who will be Seven on Sunday) was able to get through an asthma attack with the accursed prednizone. Yippeee Yahoooeeeeyyyyy The Dr. confirmed that she is out of the woods, so to speak. She will be monitored closely (finally) and we may have her asthma managed by september! That is Great news.

Secondly, my brother in law, rocks he watched the younger two so I could take my oldest to the Dr. appt. sans the young'ins... and we were in and out in 15 minutes. A world record, (side note: My sister rocks by association)

Thirdly, I have blisters on my hands. "Blisters?" you ask. "Yes, blisters," I confirm with a scowl... For you see, I mowed the lawns today. I thought my lawn care technician was going to do it yesterday and not only did it NOT get mowed yesterday, but my lawn care technician is now injured. Apparently, golf is a very strenuous sport. snicker snicker

Anyway, It's late late, ok... it's only 8:10pm... but that's late late for me. I was up at the crack of dawn this morning, trying to generate a buzz about my blogs! Tomorrow I have alot of real work to do.. So, I won't get to play.

1) It's just going to be worn anyway, life is short why waste time folding

2) There are poor people in wrinkled clothes somewhere on the planet and as a show os solidarily for their inability to launder, wear your wrinkled clothes and shout "Hell No, We Won't fold"

3) If you fold it, it won't be wrinkled, without the wrinkles to hide them, you will see the stains you couldn't remind in the wash.

4) If the basket of laundry isn't in the livingroom waiting to be folded, you won't have towels handy to clean up those messes.

Wednesday... Happy Hump Day

The birds are creating quite a ruckus outside. It almost drowns out the distant rumble of the trucks headed down the interstate. It's sounds like a wierd science fiction thing... like there is a big vaccum running in the distance, and someone is squeezing a hundred squeeky toys.

NOISY for 5:00am

Fat and Happy almost bit the big one yesterday. For those of you that don't know, Fat & Happy is what we call the squirrels. Because they are fat and happy. They are also clevre little creatures that enjoy torturing Rosie the wonderdog. Thye stand on the deck on the other side of the sliding glass door and basically dare Rosie to get them through the glass.

They appear to have her schedule down, because they are no where to be found until she has been otu in the morning, then all of a sudden they decide to party right in front of her face.

I felt bad for her yesterday so although I was running late, I stealthily opened the door while 3 Fat & Happy were forraging in my garden and Rosie BOUNDED off the deck stairs hanging in the air like a scene from Matrix and almost landing on one of the squirrels (in retrospect, it probably wasn't such a good idea... I mean, what would I have done if she had actually caught it)

The fuzzy tailed rodent was so shocked, it almost didn't make it to a tree.

With a smile on her face, Rosie, proceeded to perform the rest of her rounds, which included rousting all of the birds off the fences and away from the succulant insects in the lawn. Rosie ran the fence line a couple of times to make sure eveyone knew she was serious, then she returned to me... with a smile.

yup that's my dog.

So, This was the first week of my new summer schedule. The child care provider... hhhmmm Nanny?.... nope... babysitter? ... kid sitter. That's better, the kid sitter was great. The kids LOVED her and guess what.... She straightened up the house.

She actually dusted and cleaned out behind my computer! IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT.... Very good score. how do people do that? How do normal people (obviously not like me) have time to actually clean and fold laundry and stuff (I know Dr. Coll... I know) Then it occurred to me... PERHAPS.... JUST MAYBE.... They don't spend so much time writing blog entries...

Hmmmmmmm ...... naw that can't be it! HA HA HA HA HA HA A AH

Next week I will be on vacation. This weekend is the big party... which reminds me I haven't gotten any response from several invitation recipients... (b the king? you coming?) Slag boy intends to attend the party. OH, happy day.

Everyone says, "Oh that's great, so good that he will even be in the same room wiht you" So GOOD? SO GOOD!?! If I wanted to be in the same room with him... I would hvae stayed married! HA HA HA HA However, since it's not MY BIRTHDAY, it's my daughters, I will suck it up...

McCain Flips Bush The Bird

OK OK, I'm no political commentator... mostly because I stumble over the spelling of commentator, but mostly because I like to blame everything on the government... just across the board... Pause to reflect... Does Chuck Norris wear a toupee?

OK, I'm back, the "total Gym" commercial threw me for a loop... I haven't seen Old Chuck lately.. in fact, not since Texas Ranger.

Anyway, I got sucked into the article about McCain wanting to offer 300M for an energy saving car design. Don't worry I'll include the link... but here's what made me very very happy. YES, I know he voted "YES" to the off shore oil and probably also to the Alaskan drilling... but offering a large sum of money for an innovative design is big news... In essence he is flipping the bird to Bush and his Oil Buddies. right?

He's giving them a little stipend now... but in the long run he's funding the research and design that will reduce our dependence on oil... and what else, oh yeah... maybe giving the economy a little boost with rebates for purchasing energy efficient cars... Go McCain... you da man.

Well... as you all know... I'm a bit on the geeky side and as I am technically inclined, I am also a bit ("A Bit?!?" my friend Mary screams incredulously) Ralph Cramdenesque, in that I am always looking for a way to make money.

.... sigh.... If I could find the perfect job... It would be someone either paying me to read books...

Here's what I envision:

Seriously, ... if nothing else, I am extremely impressed by the personnel at payperpost I logged a tech ticket because I had a question and in the email back, they commented on my blog (specifically the 10 cool things that make you look uncool) the remailed response WAIT.... I can excerpt it. Here it is:

Sunday Movie And A Nap

Last week was the first day the kids were home from school with the "nanny". Who is really a kid-sitter... right? This coming week, they will be home three days in a row, and then we will all be together for Thursday and Friday and I'm looking forward to that!

Dreamweaver. ( actually have the whole Photoshop CS3 - which is awesome and i sure would like to get the time to teach myself to use it)

Asthma Attack

Hello Everyone.
It's been a while. As you know I am working on my other blogging empire.... www.getmyo.com
and it accompanying blog www.getmyo.blogspot.com This weekend, I am going to try to get some live footage of people giving their opinions. That should be fun.

Quick update on the status of the House.

My oldest had an asthma attack yesterday, Her asthma is strange because it's all lower airway, so although it looks like she can breath, she said it feels like someone is sitting on her chest. We got into the allergest who was able to measure her breathing and she confirmed that she was definitely having an attack. She has given a bunch of things to give to her, to try to avoid Prednizone. So far so good. Qvar, an inhaled steroid seemed to work immediately. I'm not sure if I just imagined that or not... because I think the steriods take a little while, but it really seemed to stop the coughing.

So, that was exciting.

Today (Thursday) is the last day of school for the kids.

The kids are very excited and so am I. I love the summer.

So work is good, the kids are over-all healthy and happy... and slag boy (who has moved into the area) is still.... slaggy.
