3:00am.... someone has an earache

First, I had to Webster earache, because I thought it was 2 words, but when I was googling possible treatments for my 7 year olds earache, I kept seeing it as one word... and sure enough... it's in Webster.com as one word. EARACHE Earache, earache. NOPE, just doesn't look right to me..... but then as I pointed out above, it's 3:00am.

I tried to go back to sleep... but I can't remember if I took the heating pad with me when we moved or if I left that with slag boy... I thought I took everything I needed... oh well. Trying to think where I would have put it... is keeping me up! I warmed up a washcloth and put that on her ear and covered it with a towel and she fell right back to sleep... the poor thing, crawled into my bed and was tossing and turning and whimpering...

I have to find a new pediatrician... I LOVE my Dr., however, he is not accessible. I picked up my daughter from school on Friday because she said she had an earache (which seemed to miraculously cure itself when we got home...but maybe not) I called the Dr.'s office at at 12:00pm and left an urgent message with the service explaining the whole situation and I didn't even get a call back.... Which as it turns out, since she seemed so much better Friday night and Saturday day... I didn't really mind.. although I would have taken her, if they had called.

BUT this middle of the night, writhing in pain thing.... I can't take it.

For you parents out there... you may wonder why I'm such a freak... well, first, it's because, I'm a freak. Second, it's because this is maybe.... maybe.... the 2nd earache ANY of my kids have EVER had. That's not their M.O. Usually their illnesses don't really manifest with much pain... just the discomfort associated with ... well, being unable to breath (asthma) or barking coughs (croup) or ..... the littlest.... The Snot Bullet.

So, as you know or may surmise, watching your child twisting and turning in pain... is no fun.

I got 2 Pediatrician names from 2 parents with kids in my first graders class... I will call them Monday to see if they take my insurance. If they do, I will start the process... Which sucks, (ooohhhh look at that word I used, I must really mean it) The reason it sucks is because since we just moved in June, I thought that our Dr. was just starting to get to know the kids... but I gotta do what I gotta do... right?

Rosie is also going for her checkup.

I called the vet, I have been very very lax where this is considered, I know she was vaccinated and all that stuff before i got her, but I really meant to get her to the Vet before now. Anyway, I finally found a vet (by referral) and made the appointment. I explained that she is a great dog, fantastic with people, but not so good with other Dog's and they gave me the first appointment so that I won't run into any other Dogs. I'll keep you posted.

It's been a while since I filled you in on Rosie... We have been keeping her busy with her own raw hides and other things... but yesterday she chewed the hand off a baby doll... no problem. The girls got to play "plastic surgeon" no pun in intended... and they put a big bandage over the missing limb. I had to throw out a book (which I had just finished reading and must have left on the floor) she used her paws and tiny little front teeth to tear the pages into strips.

I'm telling you, I would make millions of dollars if I could come up with a healthy dog toy that Dogs can disassemble, or shred. Dexter is great, he just cleans up after Rosie (remember Dexter? my Roomba iRobot vacuum) One of Dexters little sweeper brushes broke off... Rosie was skulking, I don't know if she was skulking because she attacked Dexter, or for another reason.

I checked it out, I'm pretty sure the little brush is a consumable, easily replaced.

Did you know, they have an irobot, that also MOPS the floor. I might. Just might be interested. Get one going, then the other...

I returned my canister vacuum to Walmart yesterday and got a $133.00 store credit. This is the vacuum that caught on fire in my house.. I told you right? Anyway, that's only slightly more than what the electrician charged me to come out to check out the outlet and replace it. But at least I got the money back. The first customer service person wasn't going to give it to me... well, I didn't blame her, because I walked into the store with a vacuum, no box, no receipt. nothing but the vacuum and a story about a fire.

I persisted (pleasantly) and got to speak to the manager who issued a store credit. I was pretty sure they were going to send me packing and tell me that I needed to contact the mfg. but nope. They issued the credit.

OH oh, I hear the earache kid, I'd better go
Have a great day
I'm home on Monday for MLK Jr. B-Day!
Enjoy your day
